Howdy Folks.

We are starting to refine our schedule for this year's exciting Spring Thing Festival.

If you are coming on Friday, then you can expect to find an open Shelter #2 for meeting up with others and jamming during the day.  I will be opening the building in the morning and setting up the coffee pot.  We will have a Pot Luck dinner at 6 pm.    I would like to organize the foods that you bring so that we do not have too many apple pies and too little frog legs.

After the pot luck, we will have some open mike players.  So go ahead and polish up any tune that you want to present either solo or with friends.

We will have a great pa system so that you can mic your dulcimer or whatever instrument that you want to use.  And a mic for your singing if that is what you want to do.

We can use the shelter late into the evening.

Saturday morning, we are planning to flip some pancakes.  I hope to get a few volunteers for this.  We should start serving them at 8 am.

Then at 9 am, we will be having fun with a group lesson with Anne Lough.  By 12 noon, I know that some will be ready for lunch.  I personally recommend that you try the RedTop Lodge Restaurant.  They have an incredible buffett all day.  The lunch buffett is reasonably priced.  Save room for the desert bar.

In the afternoon, we will again be together at 2 pm for a group lesson with Anne Lough.

Later in the day, we will break up for jamming, funning around and getting to know each other.

Another open mic opportunity will be presented in the early evening hours followed by a concert presenting Anne Lough.

Jamming will continue until Old Joe Clark comes home to roost and Turkey in the Straw comes home to roast.

Sunday morning we will be gathering for a group playing - singing to include everyones favorite and familiar songs led by Anne Lough.

Anne has expressed an interest in sharing her expertise with shape-note singing for anyone who is interested.   We will see how many show an interest in this and then present a structure for that activity.

We now have a group of 40 registered dulcimists and I know that you will talk it up in your satellite groups and get many more to come and join us.

I will be keeping you updated when I have more info to dispense and more jokes.
