Meals
The Red
Top Mountain Park Lodge, located about a half mile from Shelter #2 where we will be meeting has a first class and quite affordable restaurant. There are numerous restaurants are in nearby
We will all join together on Friday evening at around 6 pm for a potluck dinner. The North Georgia Culinary Kings will be serving a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning. And, new this year, a special potluck dinner on Saturday evening, also at 6 pm. We will have a beverage station throughout the event.
Dulcimer Playing Fun
Doors will open on Friday at 10 am to the vast interior landscapes of "Shelter #2". The hall is so expansive that we will provide a map. There are plenty of windows providing romantic views of the surrounding forest and admitting flowing sunlight to brighten many a dulcimer tune. The outside area has plenty of tree shaded coves for dulcimist rendezvous.
The kitchen is industrial quality and can handle a "culinary cast of thousands".
The stage will be set with professional quality PA and manned by "audio pros" .
Saturday will be a day of learning for all of us from the expertise of Bill Taylor. There will be lots of jamming time and the mid-May weather will allow for outdoor jam circles under those famous ancient oaks. Add to the mix the open mike opportunities on Friday evening and the Saturday evening concert by Bill Taylor.
Sunday morning will bring out the meditative and soulful for a jam led by Bill and a handful of angels. The tab will be sent out via email to all who are signed up well in advance of May 14th so you can get your licks down.
